Once we found the right place to park (TomTom was a bit confused) it was just a short walk to GZ. The GPSr was having trouble finding a lock so like a couple of bush turkies we scratched around for a while before taking a peek at the hint and soon the prize was located.

Thanks for the cache.

There is often a group of us that go caching together [:o)] and a little spontaneous friendly competition breaks out from time to time Big Grin. Nothing serious, just a mad dash to get to the obvious spot b4 the other Razz or maybe a gentle nudge out of the way [B)], it's to be expected right and it adds to the funfilled atmosphere [:X]. Well, AmbulareSimia, Plus-One and myself were out on one of our nite caching runs 2nite and as we left the last cache, Mr simia had been jokingly advising Plus-One of ways he might possibly gain an advantage over others by the use of his central locking mechanism Wink, him being the driver and all. As we were enroute to this cache, I pointed out to MrsSimia, who woz seated in the back with me, that Mr Simia had his window down (we had the aircon on) and this woz probably so he could escape the vehicle should Plus-One "ACCIDENTLY" hit the central locking button on his keys as he got out Smile. We had a little chuckle to ourselves and thought nothing more of it until we arrived @ the parking area 4 this cache. The boys suddenly jumped out of the car, closed the doors and started running off down the bike path laughing maniacly [?] [:o)]. Mrs Simia and I went to open the doors.....nope LOCKED Surprised. We tried to unlock them....nope still locked. CHILD LOCKS Twisted For a brief second we just sat there. First i thought....oh yeh alright.....good one...very funny! Then i think i said out loud....stuff em (or words 2 that effect) they can have this one. Then nah bugger this, your not gonna get it that easily! So over the front seat i climbed (oh no...not feet on his seats [:(!]) with Mrs Simia right behind me (more feet [:(!] ) We closed the front door but due to their trick, couldn't lock Plus-One'spride & joy Twisted We ran down the path towards the flickering lights, thinking out loud how awesome it would be if we got there and then beat them to the find [^] Mr Simia passed us heading back to lock the car. We continued on GZ and it appeared the boys hadn't found it yet. Cool. After a couple of minutes searching, i exclaimed i couldn't even find the hint and looked up to see Plus-One and Mr Simia walking back towards us. Plus-One ask if we wanted to stop searching and come sign the log. It seems he'd found it and gone to show Mr Simia,(who woz on his way back from car detail), how he'd found it and left the girls still searching for something that woz no longer there chuckle, chuckle. I signed the logbook @ 11-35pm to the sounds of the boys slapping each other on the back and voicing how funny they were.
How could the child locks be activated without us seeing i hear you ponder...At the previous cache, Mr Simia distracted us on the way back to the car, on the pretense of us visually checking the accuracy of information in previous logs that had been gained from a different angle. Plus-One continued on to the car by himself and engaged the locks. Think they must be feeling threatened and a little insecure. Have to watch em in the future....they're sneaky. It is flattering to see the lengths they'll go to to beat us though. Big Grin TFTC

At this point Mr Simia and Plus-One were feeling a little threatened by the find count of the girls for the night, so a little sabotage involving child locks at the previous find, when we pulled up they made a dash for the cache, leaving Loupyloo and Mrs Simia somewhat perplexed as to just what was going on....

It wasnt long before they realised the need to climb over the front seats and exit via the front doors, but with the head start Plus-One had the cache in hand rather quickly, but in an effort to stir the pot and get a few more laughs, or run a near suicide misson (We're not really sure) he held off on letting the girlsno this while they searched for a good 5 or 10 minutes. Mrs Simia signed the log @2330.

Another fun adventure.

As I was walking to GZ there was a groundsman doing some work about ten metres away so I pulled out my camera to get ready to take photos of all the birds inhabiting the area. The caching gods were smiling though and the groundsman packed up and drove off just as I reached GZ. A quick dash and grab and then I sat on the banks to watch the wildlife as I filled in the log book. I had just replaced the cache and was heading back to the car when muggles descended from both directions. Good timing! TFTC I'll bring the kids for a cycle along here soon.

Nice quick find this morning as I was out and about on the North side. Had to make use of the slip of paper kindly left by a previous hunter as the log was dripping. Could have used some of Baroki Scouts gel after this one... Wink

Found at 22:00pm.

Nice bit of exercise getting the the cache location (on foot).

Was a nice quick easy find.

Log was unusable, as per yval's log.

Signed slip of paper kindly supplied by yval.

Unable to replace log, as we had none available.

Some very interesting sounds came out of the lake as we wandered to the GZ in the dark, I'm guessing mostly frogs and birdlife....No TB (previous cacher did mention they took it in the log). Log was a bit slimey and wet so used the little piece of paper yval thoughtfully put in place (it won't last long). I was head down over the GPS looking for the cache as Alkzura gently prompted me to look in the obvious place a few times before reaching around and grabbing the cache himself. Oops. Red Face TFTC

Another nice stroll along a bike path (I really must get the old machine out and do these caches properly). The cache was half full of water and the log is saturated and not usable. Left a piece of note paper in its own bag as a temporary log. Cleaned up the seals of the container to make sure that it was watertight.
Took TB left nothing. The geocoin is not in residence.

I was over in the area with the intention of picking up another cache when this one popped up on the screen.
Stealth mode + as a cricket match was in progess and a few muggle supporters were enjoyed the shade.

I found Lokipagan's coords to be spot on.

Found the cache without any dramas. However, the logbook and contents were ....soggy shall we say.

Thanks VWNuts Smile

Sorry didn't have the geo-cycle today so had to walk into this one.
There was a little rain around so the nearby water was pretty populated with water birds at the time.
Found the cache ok but the log was sitting in about 5mm of water.
I dryied it out best I could but me thinks it will need some maintenance and maybe a plastic bag.

Yep, we both poked around the cache and missed it a couple of times before it revealed itself. Quite a fighter this one Wink. TN/LN and took the cache to the van so we could sign the log. You'll be pleased to know that I always have the junkiecycle on board, so did a quick "tour down-under" to GZ and back to replace it. Left the "Sumatran Elephant" geocoin.

You can never have too many caches next to bike ways Big Grin
Bicycles are the perfect geotransport in urban areas [^]

Unfortunately yours truly hadn't read the cache notes or the cache name and was just following the arrow toward GZ on the bike this morning.
And of course yours truly ended up riding along the grassy strip behind the houses on the opposite side of the lagoon to where the cache was hiding Red Face
Bugger !!

A few hundred metres later I was back on the roads and found a bike path and a bridge that led along the opposite bank of the lagoon and straight to the cache Big Grin
I found "Platypus Dan" geocoin hiding in the cache and I left "Todie's Wild Ride: Wear your bicycle helmet" geocoin within.

TFTC and great spot to stop on my 56km loop of the northside today Big Grin

So i knew that he was placing a cache and couldn't bring myself to get the FTF as it would have been an unfair advantage... so i left it a few days and did the cach on our daily ride with the family Smile

Set forth for another Sunday morning geocycle out to my favourite part of town and spotted that a detour was necessary to pick up this cache.Razz Although I considered I knew all the loopy ways Wink to the bike paths in this part of town I was to discover that our newly converted geocyclist has shown the old dog some new tricks.Surprised

Once I found my way into GZ I was presented with the type of scenery and location that originally attracted me to geocaching.Big Grin After locating the cache a muggle came along to feed the birds and I thought I would be in for a long wait.[:(!] However the muggle seemed just as disturbed by my presence as I was by her and she very quickly moved on allowing me to replace the cache. Smile

Unless it is a puzzle cache or a very clever hide cache placement is just like real estate it is all about location, location, location.
As with the M2M series vwnuts has once again set the bar at a level we should all aspire to.[^]Cool

A very unexpected FTF at 12:55. Until I looked back at the email just now we had not realised that the publication was announced only 20 minutes before we turned the computer on to get a new pocket query for the day. In view of the usual early birds in the area we were most surprised to find an empty log book.

385 - Second to find at 1:16pm but first to log. If only I had of seen it pop up sooner!!! I left the front door open as I went for a short walk to search for this one, so close is the cache that if it were any closer to my back yard, it would be in my front garden. Took a few mins of looking as my co-ords were a few metres different to vwnuts, but an easy find using the hint. Nice area this one, we were not aware it was as good as this until we moved here just a couple of months ago. Took too long to get organised and put a cache in here, but well done to vwnuts on getting one in here and to Billncyndi for the FTF. TFTC and I took the Canadian Beaver TB.

Third to find, our best yet! Only 500m from home so rode the bikes down for a look. Did not take a pencil, so did not write in the log. TN (there was nothing to take) and left parachute man. We have ridden up here a few times and talked about putting in a cache. There were lots of birds to see and no muggles. GPS had us a little off the mark, but the clue got us there quick smart.
