After a fair bit of "is ouch almost up yet" to the cache cache owner every time we stopped to chat I finally managed to get the final coordinates from team rubik and complete ouch as I had intended to a few months earlier when in the lovely company of Cluelesscouple. I needed to prove my caching skills and somehow realised that I had some coordination to get to gz safely. Amazing!! What a fantastic cache. This cache put me outside my normal comfort zone but I was well rewarded with the successful completion of a cache I was very egger to cross off my list. This cache is on my highly recommended list for any cacher who enjoys a bit of a challenge. now this cache is completed I can get back to studying for year 12 exams (sigh)... two weeks and it’s all over.... then... then I can cache till my heart’s content.
Thanx team rubik
Cheers Smile

Well Finally! We were becoming increasingly macrophobic as the time continued to pass since we logged our DNF for the final part of this epic adventure.
Through continued contact with the cache owner we eventually were rewarded with the coordinates for the newly place final GZ, despite the cache not being available just yet due to some technical difficulties with EBAY.
Armed with the newly acquired information we once again tackled the entry point that gave the cache its name and ventured forth to new GZ. We retreived the freshly stocked container from its well hidden location and thus finished the Ouch quest.
Some words of warning for those that follow...arachnophobia, claustrophobia, dendrophobia and ophidiophobia. Thanks for the heads up Rob and a very enjoyable challenge.

New cache is in place, a new waypoint is required however. I've put in an order, just waiting for delivery.

We finally prepared ourselves for an all out assault on the final GZ on this one, having been putting it off for a while due to injury/illness (and not having the final coords). When we arrived at the indicated area we could not find the cache high or low. We searched for well over an hour without any result. A later call to the cache owner confirmed that we were at the correct location and that we should have seen it had it been there. Either we have overlooked it or it is missing. We have been assured it is being looked into.

This cache has been on my 'to do' list for many months, as it was on a critical path for my efforts in the Well Rounded Cacher competition. However due to some procrastination on my behalf it was not until two days ago that I finally commenced the hunt. (The WRC competition ends at midnight on the 31st!). Unfortunately my search period happened to coincide with a rather persistent heatwave, meaning I was searching in 40° temperatures every evening.

At WP1 I came across a snake near GZ. Poked around for a bit before calling the Rubik helpline for an idea of what I was looking for, and soon the information was in hand. Ran away back home to the air-conditioned comfort to interpret the results.

Found WP2 yesterday evening. Life would have been made much easier if there was someone else present, but I got there in the end.

Went straight on to WP3 after WP2. Spent an hour looking for this one, which brought back quite a few memories of caching in Bendigo. A brilliant placement. Retreated back home afterwards to rest the weary body, but my mind remained active overnight.

After eating dinner this evening, I set off in pursuit of WP4. A logical search pattern meant that this was discovered in a timely manner, unlike its predecessor!

My thinking the night before paid off for GZ, and it wasn't long before I had a heavy well-stocked ammo can in hand. Immense relief followed, as finding this cache negated the need for me to travel an additional 500km on Saturday to tick off this elusive difficulty/terrain combination.

After signing the log and replacing the cache, Team Rubik met me near GZ. Well, poor Rubik copped an earful from me, as I recounted by adventures in finding this cache in a rather convoluted manner. The combination of heat and excitement had made me hyperactive!

TNLN. Thanks Team Rubik for placing such a beautifully constructed cache. Now I'm off to celebrate by catching up on some 'Caching Australia' episodes that I've been saving for such a special occasion Big Grin

Found at 1130. Well........this one is one of the best and most memorable caches I've done in a while.

Had the chance to come by WP1 on a quick trip through Shepp a few weeks ago to take a sneak peak at what lie ahead, but didn't have the time to continue on. Once DJ and I found 'Toot Toot', it was time to see what was really in still for us. Whilst most of the WP's provided a good physical challenge, DJ and I combined well together to get the job done, and once we found WP4, things seemed to be going pretty well....until it came time to find the final cache location. As it was, we ran out of time, so during that day and today, we had a pretty good idea where to find the cache, the only question left to answer was how would we go about doing it. As it was, we took the more direct route, and after some careful thought on our approach to GZ, we found the well stocked cache, sat down to sign the log, and reflected on the journey that was taken to finally lay this one to rest.

A wonderful effort on this one Team Rubik. I really like the fact that each of the WP's provided a different challenge, both mentally and, and physically, and I loved the concept used to find the various WP's and the final cache.

Thanks for a great time!

Ah, what an adventure!

Marcus had done wpt 1 a while ago, but for my sake and because I wanted to do the whole cache, he was happy to go back to wpt1 so I could find the info needed. I somehow managed to find it quickly, but it resulted in some head scratching, but then the penny dropped.

With required info, it was off to wpt 2. I was the spotter and Marcus was the retriever. We came with the required equipment but didn't feel the need to use it.

Wpt 3, God, here we go. Looking looking looking and bingo, there it is. But I can't get it, and putting it back was mildly amusing too. I wonder what anyone was thinking if they had seen us there.

Wpt 4, this took the longest to find. I must of overlooked it 3 times, Marcus had overlooked too but he had an inkling of what he was looking for, and eventually found it. Not what I was expecting and don't think I would have found it if I was on my own.

This is where the whole thing turned upside down and it has taken a couple of weeks to work out what was going on. With confirmation our co ords were right it was off to GZ with the required equipment. We looked around GZ first to see what we were up against and promptly got carried away with what we were doing just kept on going, leaving the equipment back in the car.

Unfortunately everything inside the cache was wet, and even a small pool in the bottom. It could benefit with a bit of drying out, and future finders, please place the cache right side up so it doesn't collect water.

Thanks Rubik for being part of the XoE series, you have put together a couple of great adventurous caches that are very enjoyable experiences, well done.

TNLN Cheers.

Well...after successfully completing 'Toot-Toot Tour', and making it to WP4, alas....we had to abort. Will be back to hopefully complete this one soon.

With completing Team Rubik’s toot toot cache earlier in the morning Karen and I received a phone call from Cdmark inviting us along to give Rubiks latest cache in the evil series ago so with a small army we headed out of our Mooroopna head quarters after loading on board our supplies and equipment and information needed Corey, Di, Marty, James, Tilley, Karen and myself headed out to tackle Xoe Ouch. With many eyes we managed to get all the waypoints fairly quickly although wp2 was a little tricky but Karen did well to retrieve the information needed. Wp3 had us scratching our heads for some time. But it was gz where the fun began Corey, Karen and I went to claim the cache while the other members of the team sat back relaxed and enjoyed a good laugh. Karen did really well crossing the river without getting wet while Corey and I went the long way about getting to gz. With our equipment that we brought along the final task of claiming the cache container went smoothly we added our team names to the blank front page of the log book claiming the FTF. Getting back was just as slow and may I say painful as getting across but we all made it safely. A really enjoyable cache made all the more so by the company we were in thanks Team Rubik and thanks guy for a great afternoon

Ahh...the sweet taste of a new cache coupled with some keen fellow caches and a great Sunday afternoon to celebrate Father's Day. Who could want for more? Well, to not break a limb I guess! .
I will admit that we were well pretty well prepared for this cache as unlike Team Rubik we have a ladder and it had ventured with him on the cache placement. We headed off to GZ with Silver dice, Karen, D and GeoJnr in the secondary geocaching vehicle (they had just completed Rubik's other XoE cache on the way here which was a good practice run for what was to come). Marty, GeoTilly, C and the required equipment were in the other vehicle.
I can't describe the WP's too much as I don't want to give anything away for future finders but I think that we covered a few of the requirements in the current caching Olympic games in one hit.
WP1 was a nice little spot that I had not seen before and would like to see someone make the effort to go from one side to the other. I would not stick my hand up for that though! The required information was quickly found by Silver dice - funny, it is always in the last place you look. . Karen helped GeoJnr add sand to his hair..funny stuff.
WP2 was a short drive away and a great little spot that fortunately has been relatively left untouched by the budding artists that live in the area. This one had the crew scratching their heads for a whilst with my brother eventually spotting it but not letting on to the others - cruel! LOL. The girls eventually spotted it and I admired Karen's nimbleness and ninja like reflexes to retrieve the required information - shades of a cache in Tungamah. Job well done. GeoJnr was not as nimble and tried to defy gravity without success - his butt felt a little like ours would later on.
We headed of to WP3 and we were well prepared for this as we have done a few of the Bendigo caches and don't mind getting down and dirty in this type of environment. It was a busy little road today and we did receive some strange looks from the locals. This one again had the team somewhat baffled. Eventually D suggested a likely spot and object and fortunately Silver dice was able to retrieve what we needed to continue.
WP4 took us to a pretty nice spot along the river and should continue to look great as the revegetation continues. D again spied what we needed in a short period of time and then all we needed to do was work out where GZ was.
Now, to GZ. This is were things got a bit hairy and also hilarious. It was one continuous laugh fest actually! We were able to get the required equipment to GZ in a slightly less than orthodox way but hey it worked! Now we had to go and meet up with it. Silver dice took the low road and I took the high road and Karen made her own path. Again, well done. The remainder of the crew sat back and laughed, cheered, and took video of our expedition.
We retrieved our equipment and then the found a nice large well stocked ammo can. Nice.
The log was signed and it was great to share a FTF with family and friends. Swaps made and we discovered Team Rubik's evil micro coin which is appropriate for the XoE series! Our equipment was 'returned' to the rest of the crew and I will say Team Rubik that I think I broke my previous record - a great throw indeed. Karen and I waited for Silver dice to make his way back and had quite a good old chuckle as he really gave the cache name a beating. I am glad that we had the other guys with us today because I reckon if Silver dice and I did this on our own and then came out of the bush holding out butts saying ouch, things would not have looked good! LOL.
We then returned to home base and celebrated our fun day and cache find by adding chocolate to milk.
Thanks Team Rubik for another high standard cache and a most enjoyable outing. Thanks to Silver dice, Karen, the cdmark team, GeoJnr, GeoTilly and Marty for coming along. Cheers.
